GLP appoints MiD as new French distributor
France – GLP has appointed Paris-based MiD (Musique Industrie Développement, mid.audio) as its new French distributor, coinciding perfectly with the latest edition of the GLP-sponsored Showlight lighting networking show held in Dijon (19–22 May 2025).
With a dedicated Artbox showroom located at the Parc de l'Évènement in Longjumeau (south of Paris), MiD operates throughout the country, carrying more than 36 AV brands in its catalogue. Historically strong in pro-audio, it is now starting to develop its lighting brands. MiD sales director Julien Seillier says GLP is central to this mission, in the event, concert touring and architectural segments.
He says that GLP recognised MiD’s flexibility, energy and above all a desire to develop the lighting market and propel this brand to the forefront: “I come from a rental background, having spent several years at AED Group. I am very familiar with the service and event market and I have always been a fan of GLP.”
He emphasises the brand’s perfect fit within the company’s distribution portfolio. “GLP is the flagship of our lighting division,” he confirms. “The range of products offered allows us to meet the needs of all our integrators and service providers. Drawing a parallel with audio, we consider GLP to be a premium brand, like [high-end speaker manufacturer] VOID.”
MiD is already ramping up its infrastructure to cater for this latest arrival, with showroom, roadshows, trade show participation, dedicated hiring and training all in the pipeline. It has also been recruiting an experienced brand manager, who will be responsible for promoting the GLP brand through demos and technical advice, to customers, prospects and influencers such as lighting designers, set designers and art directors.
Mindful that GLP has not been represented in the country for some time, Julien Seillier says: “Our goal now is to get GLP to where it should be: among the top three in France. The brand has a solid reputation among service providers and lighting designers and is noted for being a pioneer. For instance, the X4 Bar range and the JDC are references that often come up in conversation.”
He also noted GLP's strength in maintaining continuity of its ranges, with renewal at reasonable intervals: “This will help encourage customers even further about their investments in GLP fleets.”
The new distribution arrangement is effective from mid-May and MiD confirms it is already working on several projects. “The entire MiD Team is extremely motivated by this incredible brand,” says Julien Seillier in conclusion.
“We are excited to welcome MiD as our exclusive distribution partner in France,” comments Stefan Wagner, sales director EMEA for GLP. “At GLP, we value more than just business, we believe in family, we build partnerships that feel like friendships and we’re always looking toward the future. MiD shares these values, which makes them the perfect fit for our team.”

EM Acoustics announces distribution partnership with 7Hertz
UAE – British manufacturer of professional audio solutions, EM Acoustics, has announced its partnership with 7Hertz, a prominent supplier of audio technology across the Middle East. This partnership will strengthen EM Acoustics’ reach into new markets and bring the brand’s high-quality portfolio of loudspeakers, including point sources, line arrays, subwoofers and related electronics, to new audiences.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with 7Hertz, who are truly aligned with our ethos in terms of their expertise and their commitment to quality,” says Roger Harpum, business development Manager at EM Acoustics. “We are excited to introduce our product portfolio to this rapidly expanding market with such an outstanding operation and we trust in Chadi, John and the expert team at 7Hertz to uphold our high standards.”
Established in 2009, 7Hertz is a leader in the professional audio market in the Middle East region, operating across Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Representing a broad range of leading technology brands, 7Hertz shares EM Acoustics’ commitment to providing the highest quality customer experience, in terms of both product and support; shared values that the two companies discovered during an initial meeting at the EM Acoustics factory in Surrey, UK.
“When we met with EM Acoustics, it was clear from the outset that our outlooks were well aligned in the full sense, and that they have some genuinely exciting products,” confirms John Parkhouse, CTSO at 7Hertz. “There’s a long-standing tradition of proper R&D behind what they do, built over many years of focus and commitment, growing steadily from humble beginnings to a strong and growing global reputation for quality.
“What really made the difference was spending two days with Ed, Mike and Roger at their UK facility. Chadi and I were able to see the manufacturing process up close, impressive in every respect and the level of attention to detail throughout stood out clearly. Everything is grounded in solid engineering, with a clear focus on one thing: voicing. The EMS range is versatile, amplifier agnostic and works without needing DSP. Then we stepped into the Reference Series, where the focus on voicing went to another level entirely. I would go as far as to say they are sublime; these speakers are exceptional.”
Looking ahead, the team at 7Hertz is committed to highlighting the potential of EM Acoustics products for use cases ranging from fixed installations to theatres and rentals at their facilities in Dubai, UAE. With a dedicated demo kit already in place, 7Hertz are anticipating a strong response from clients in the region.

Known as a vibrant entertainment destination featuring theatre, comedy, variety and cabaret performances, along with bar and restaurant facilities, its technical infrastructure makes it an excellent showcase for Follow-Me's technology, which offers an alternative to traditional followspots in modern performance spaces.
In this new demo space, Follow-Me can showcase its complete product line-up. This includes the advanced Follow-Me 3D TWO and SIX system for comprehensive three-dimensional tracking, along with the versatile Follow-Me Track-iT auto tracking solution, to transform any fixture into a remote followspot, provide 3D positioning data to immersive audio and mapped video systems, and to integrate with stage automation systems.
Follow-Me will also start running regular training sessions several times a month, allowing operators to gain hands-on experience with their systems in a professional setting.
"It's great to have this wonderful space to use in central London, that’s conveniently located for public transport," says Edwards. "Given that Underbelly Boulevard Soho is filled to the brim with technology and doesn't have space for traditional followspots, it makes it the ideal place for us to use as a demo and training room. Showing LD's, specifiers, and rental companies what Follow-Me can do in person is incredible. Seeing really is believing."

LSD Takes on Robe Distribution for whole Balkans Region
Serbia – Belgrade-based Light and Sound Design D.O.O. (LSD), headed by Milan Scepanovic and run with great energy and vigour by him and his team, became a Robe distributor for the Serbia with Kosovo region in 2023 and have been very successful with the brand.
Their area of operation has now been extended to embrace the entire Balkans region, adding Bosnia & Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Montenegro to their list.
Avolites and LSC Control Systems (also Robe businesses) have chosen to go with LSD distribution to stimulate their presence throughout the Balkans and additionally in Albania, together with all the strategic advantages this will bring to LSD’s customers.
LSD is a stocking distributor and for speed, efficiency and quick turnaround will always aim to have a large stock of Robe moving lights in the warehouse, ready for immediate dispatch. The reason for this ‘classic’ structuring, Milan explains: “We serve multiple territories and believe in a hands-on approach, so we like to be able to show what exactly is being proposed to clients, so they can test, see and feel for real what each product is and how it performs. Also, our clients appreciate us doing the education and training, and having everything in stock, ready for immediate delivery.”
Business in the region tends to involve short lead times, so it’s important to be proactive and be able to respond quickly. LSD’s 4,000 square metre HQ, with 15 metres of headroom, offers full testing facilities in addition to holding the stock ready for immediate action.
Being centrally located in the Balkans is another advantage, as LSD is ideally geographically placed to supply efficiently throughout the Balkans and on the other hand, customers can visit for demonstrations very fast.
LSD has boosted Robe sales in the region since 2023, and Milan observes that there is great enthusiasm for pushing up show and performance production values with so many international artists and tours now visiting, as well as local engineers and technicians working more frequently across wider Europe.
“This movement in both directions is partly driving the demand for high quality products and reliable well-respected brands,” he noted.
To achieve the initial goal of boosting sales in Serbia, LSD made a major investment in Robe products and organised two highly visible and successful open days, one in 2023 and one in 2024. The last one was amazingly well attended by 650 visitors from seven countries and three schools and faculties. Thirty-three brands were exhibited during these events, together with their representatives covering over 1,100 products on display and available for demonstration. On top of that, there were 19 presentations on two parallel stages and 12 hands-on workshops. Basically, a first fair in the Balkans aimed at production professionals.
This was free to visitors and financed by LSD with the goal of presenting premium brands to interested parties from across the Balkans in their native languages.
Additionally, the LSD crew undertook many case-by-case on-site and in-situ product demos over the years to communicate and get brands in front of people.
With the success of Robe in Serbia, Robe’s sales management team saw real potential in LSD’s ability to open up and develop other Balkan markets.
Robe’s PAINTE is currently the most popular product in the region for sales. “It’s like a Swiss Army knife,” says Milan, “It simply does so much, and people love the expedient size, the number of features, the CMY colour mixing, the shutters, amazing gobos and of course the great reliability and overall potential of such a compact unit.”
He adds that PAINTE is doing well for TV productions, concerts, festivals and numerous events.
“We have had zero service requests after two years of constant sales. PAINTE packs a lot of punch for a compact light that is so easy to set up in the studio or a hotel conference room.”
PAINTE is closely followed by LEDBeam 350 and 150, T1 Profile and ESPRITE in sales. Robe’s legendary MegaPointe is still much in demand here as elsewhere and Spiider LED wash beams are another favourite.
Recent sales include to rental company Prosound in Belgrade, now in its third consecutive year of Robe investment, making them currently the biggest Robe house in the Balkans with their latest purchase of 12 iFORTES, 18 iESPRITES and two RoboSpot base stations and cameras.
Production Pool from Ruma has just invested in PAINTES and ProMotion moving light/video projectors and Inovations from Belgrade has purchased PAINTES and iSpiiders.

Brompton Technology has achieved a King’s Award for Enterprise
UK – Brompton Technology has announced that it has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation, one of the most prestigious recognitions for UK businesses. Brompton is one of just 197 organisations nationally to receive the 2025 Award, recognised for outstanding achievement in the Innovation category. A total of 199 Awards are made with two companies being recognised with two Awards.
Founded in 2011, Brompton Technology has evolved into a global leader in LED video processing, employing 79 people across its UK headquarters and international locations. Its ground-breaking Tessera platform powers some of the world’s largest live events and is a driving force behind the rapid growth of virtual production techniques in film and television. Brompton’s technology has enabled creative visions for concert touring for global superstars including Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, and major film and television productions such as Barbie, The Mandalorian and House of the Dragon. Brompton previously won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category in 2020 and was AV Magazine’s Manufacturer of the Year in 2023.
The King’s Award recognises Brompton’s innovation in developing the Tessera SX40, which set a new standard for LED video processing. Supporting 4K workflows with a robust 10G fibre-based data distribution model, Tessera SX40 solves critical bandwidth and cabling challenges for large LED screens in demanding environments. Its advanced dynamic calibration technology dramatically improve LED panel uniformity and brightness without the compromises of traditional calibration methods, while its free software updates have introduced powerful new capabilities including ShutterSync, which allows LED refresh rates to be fine-tuned to match camera settings, extended bit depth for superior HDR performance, 3D LUT import for advanced colour grading and frame remapping, enabling the display of multiple camera views on a single LED wall.
These, and many other ongoing enhancements, delivered via software rather than hardware upgrades, have allowed Brompton’s processors to evolve alongside its customers’ needs, preserving investment and extending the usable life of LED panels, a strategy that not only delivers technical excellence but also embodies a sustainable approach to product development. This philosophy of designing for longevity and backwards compatibility has strengthened Brompton’s position as a trusted technology partner across live entertainment, broadcast, education, esports, corporate AV and premium signage.
Brompton’s innovation has also played a critical role in transforming virtual production workflows, offering film-makers and studios a powerful alternative to green screen techniques. By enabling stunningly realistic digital environments within controlled studio settings, Brompton’s technology has helped reduce the environmental impact and logistical complexity of traditional on-location filming, an advantage that became even more important during the pandemic and has continued to drive efficiencies for productions worldwide.
“We are incredibly proud to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, following our Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2020,” says Richard Mead, CEO of Brompton Technology. “This recognition is a testament to the ingenuity and hard work of our team and the amazing success of the Tessera SX40, which has also been recognised with other major awards including an Emmy from the Television Academy based in Los Angeles. Brompton continues to focus on innovation to meet the needs of our customers and delivering quality and reliability, backed up by 24/7 technical support.”

DiGiCo Announces ATEC Pro as new distributor for Austria
Austria – DiGiCo has announced that ATEC Pro has become DiGiCo distributor for Austria. Since 2011, when managing director Manfred Prochazka came on board, ATEC Pro has become an indispensable asset to clients, offering support at every stage of their events. Part of this aim includes adding DiGiCo to their impressive list of exclusive distribution for Austria and creating the highly regarded Everything AV events, while adding to their training, demo and preparation facilities. The DiGiCo team could not be more excited to join ATEC Pro on 7th May, at the Arena Wien, for this year’s event, which will feature product overviews from a range of DiGiCo family products, plus a special session delving into AVB and Meyer Spacemap Go integration.
Prochazka knows the power of relationships, so it has always been important to him that ATEC Pro be renowned for more than just supplying great equipment. Becoming DiGiCo distributor for Austria cements a long-term relationship with DiGiCo and will ensure ATEC Pro can continue to deliver the expert care and equipment their clients depend on.
“Even though the agreement has just been signed, we’ve had a great relationship with the DiGiCo team for many years. With DiGiCo on board, we can now offer a broader range of audio console options,” Prochazka explains. “Across the whole team, there is kindness and trust and you know you can rely on them.”
What began as a novel way to utilise the swimming pool at the centre of ATEC Pro’s previous headquarters, has grown into a celebration of industry relationships and the benefits that connections like these foster and, as the company has grown, so has the event. Within a few years, it had moved from the poolside, to the banks of the Danube, then onto its current home at the Arena Wien in Vienna. As Prochazka explains, the growth of the company can be mapped by the evolution of this event, as it expanded from a relatively small gathering to a hugely popular day of audio and visual presentations for any application visited by people from across the world.
“We want ATEC Pro to mean more to its clients than just somewhere to buy audio and video equipment,” Prochazka continues. “Since our merger with LUZ in 2020, myself and co-managing director Andreas Hammerschmid have worked hard to become important to each one of our customers, whether that’s through support and training, demo facilities or via our events, our clients know that they can count on us for anything.”
The day is divided into hour-long slots, with DiGiCo, KLANG and Fourier products being presented in the morning, alongside other manufacturers. There will be a Meyer Sound Panther Demo outside, with further demonstrations happening throughout the day. By showcasing the brands that ATEC distributes, Prochazka hopes their clients and future clients can get a complete overview of the excellence the industry has to offer.
“Everything goes hand-in-hand in our industry, so it’s great to be able to facilitate multiple displays for sound and video throughout the day,” Prochazka continues. “After six o’clock, we close the presentation areas and open the bar upstairs. We have a band playing, people can eat or enjoy a beverage. It means that all our customers, rental companies, integrators, dealers and freelancers can all stay and network. It’s a really big part of what makes this such a popular event. Together, Andres and I have built a team of accomplished audio and video professionals, and we exclusively distribute the leading brands in both fields.”
Phil Kamp, of KLANG, Elliot Sinclar of Fourier and Jaap Pronk, international sales manager for DiGiCo will be joining the ATEC Pro team this year and they could not be more excited to be in Vienna showcasing DiGiCo, KLANG and Fourier, while celebrating the brand-new distributor relationship with ATEC Pro.
“The Everything AV: Arena Edition is going to be a fantastic event, offering the opportunity to meet with industry peers in the perfect location,” concludes Pronk. “The event is well known as one not to miss and we are excited to join Manfred and the team for the first one as DiGiCo distributors for Austria.”

UK – Unusual Rigging is undertaking a pioneering sustainability initiative that aims to embed environmental and social sustainability across its operations and supply chain. To deliver this work, Unusual is working with Hope Solutions, a leading sustainability consultancy operating at the intersection of climate science and live events. The project is being led internally by managing director, Tom Harper (pictured), who holds a Masters in the Circular Economy MBA and supported by facilities and resource manager Lizzie Richmond, who oversees the company’s ISO certifications. This collaboration marks a clear step forward in Unusual’s ongoing commitment to climate action, ethical governance and transparent industry practice.
“We’re building something much bigger than a company checklist,” said Tom. “We’re mapping out how Unusual can act as a catalyst for broader industry change: creating tools, processes and partnerships that will allow us and others to align with fast-approaching sustainability regulations and expectations.”
The project focuses on stakeholder engagement, peer benchmarking and a materiality assessment to determine where Unusual can have the greatest impact across environmental, social and governance (ESG) frameworks. It also lays the groundwork for mandatory reporting, future certifications, and a comprehensive carbon reduction plan.

Grupo Zónico Brings Outline Newton to Venezuela
Venezuela – Grupo Zónico, a leading name in event production and entertainment technology with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed as the official distributor of the Outline Newton audio processor in Venezuela. This partnership strengthens the company’s position in the market, bringing world-class signal management technology to local professionals; technology already relied upon by top-tier international tours, festivals, and concerts.
Hugo Morillo, director of Grupo Zónico, states: “Newton has been a go-to solution for the most demanding live productions worldwide. Its exceptional audio quality and seamless integration with systems from any brand allow system engineers to overcome complex challenges with greater efficiency and reliability.”
Unique among today’s high-end processors for holding an industrial patent, Newton leverages advanced FPGA architecture alongside Outline’s signature WFIR filtering technology. It has become the de facto standard in signal processing, routing and EQing at the world’s most prestigious live events. Its success is driven by a powerful combination of flexibility, reliability and pristine audio quality, all housed in a compact 1RU chassis and controlled through an extremely intuitive software interface compatible with both Mac and PC.
Newton, to recap its path, has been deployed at some of the most iconic events in the industry, including multiple consecutive editions of Glastonbury and Coachella, as well as world tours by artists such as Roger Waters, Tool, Snow Patrol, Sam Smith, Kenny Chesney and Joe Bonamassa, to name just a few.
At the latest ‘World Youth Day’ in Lisbon, the challenge of delivering Pope Francis’s message intelligibly to 1.5 million pilgrims over a 3 km² area was met with the crucial help of just two Outline Newton processors. Configured to manage delay lines of up to eight seconds – essential to compensate for the site’s vast scale – the Newton units routed audio signals through 103km of fibre optics, co-ordinating 1,100 loudspeakers deployed on 109 PA towers, driven by 327 amplifiers and connected via 300 network switches.
Morillo concludes: “With Newton now in Venezuela, we’re equipping the local market with the same elite technology that drives landmark productions worldwide. It’s a significant leap that positions our industry on par with the global stage.”
